Digital Organ Stops
A most interesting development is the combination,
within a single instrument, of traditional organ pipes with digitally
produced organ stops reproduced through loudspeakers. The quality
of sound from a digital section is now so good that it is often
extremely difficult to distinguish which is which. Nevertheless
the overall effect undeniably remains a ‘pipe organ’.
To overcome tuning difficulties we have devised an automatic system
that ensures that the digital voices closely track changes in pitch
of the pipes. It is not generally realized the extent that the pitch
of a pipe organ changes with temperature, but in general our automatic
digital tuning makes regular adjustments entirely unnecessary.
We can provide a unit to provide just a few digital
stops, or complete hybrid instruments
in any size.
