Midi

MIDI is the ‘Musical Instrument Digital Interface’, and has become a standard on all electronic keyboards and instruments, as well as PCs. It enables different instruments to play each other, and also allows for a record-replay facility (via floppy disk or computer), whereby upon playback the organ ‘plays itself’, including all stop movements and swell-pedal operations.

We provide the usual MIDI In, MIDI Out, and MIDI Thru sockets, and consoles can be specifically programmed for compatibility with other instruments: a commercial keyboard, for example, can be used to play the whole organ remotely, including piston operations.
